June 8, 2010: Yellowstone County Quarantined for RabiesYellowstone County has been placed under a rabies quarantine, effective June 3, after the disease was confirmed in a horse in Worden, and an epidemiologic investigation is underway to determine if other animals, or humans, located on the premise were exposed to the disease by the infected horse.
May 19, 2010 Board of Livestock Discusses Brucellosis Vaccine, DSA The Montana Board of Livestock discussed Offical Calfhood Vaccine (OCV) for the state’s cattle breeding herd and recommendations from an interim legistative committee on the department’s Designated Surveillance Area (DSA) for brucellosis at its meeting in Bozeman earlier this week.
May 12, 2010 Informational Meeting on EIA Set for Gallatin County Horse Owners The Montana Department of Livestock Animal Heath Division has scheduled a meeting to update Gallatin County horse owners on its epidemiological investigation of two horses recently infected with Equine Infectious Anemia (EIA). |
